Rice Cooker Cooking Guide

Learn how to cook white rice, brown rice, soup, and porridge with Bear rice cookers using the measuring cup and inner-pot scale line.

Basic Method

  1. Measure rice using the included measuring cup.
  2. Rinse rice in the inner pot.
  3. Add water up to the matching inner-pot line for the selected rice amount.
  4. Wipe the outer bottom of the inner pot dry.
  5. Place it into the cooker and rotate slightly to ensure full contact.
  6. Close the lid, choose the function, and press Start / Cook.
  7. Let the cooker finish automatically and switch to Keep Warm.

Soup & Porridge

  • DFB-B20K1 supports Porridge/Soup. Default is 2 hours and can be adjusted from 1 to 4 hours.
  • DFB-B16C1 supports Soup. Default is 2 hours and minimum is 1 hour.
  • DFB-B12W1 manual says not to use it to cook porridge.
  • Do not exceed the maximum scale mark when cooking soup, porridge, or dessert-style foods.

Better Rice Tips

  • Use the inner-pot scale line instead of guessing water amount.
  • After placing the inner pot into the cooker, rotate it slightly to ensure full contact with the heating plate.
  • Do not open the lid while cooking.
  • For better texture, let the rice rest for a few minutes after the Cook light switches back and before serving.
  • Do not keep food warm too long if texture matters.
